Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Department: Field Development Program
Report to: Facilities Project Manager
Location: Fabrication Sites & Offshore Locations
- Responsible for monitoring the hook up and commissioning programs (onshore and offshore) on behalf of the Company for Project mechanical equipment with a focus on rotating equipment (compression, power generation, pumps, HVAC, diesel engines, etc.).
- For the mechanical equipment program, review of Contractor’s HUC planning, resourcing and execution methodologies to ensure that they are in line with Company and Contract requirements, Including;
- Review and of all mechanical HUC activities Job Cards
- Ensuring that all completions systems dossiers are prepopulated and align with HUC activities
- Ensuring that the all HUC activities documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the requirements of the agreed project completions system.
- For the mechanical equipment program ensuring that all HUC activities are performed in accordance to the established HSE requirements.
- For the mechanical equipment program, review of key technical elements of Contractor’s HUC plan, including (but not limited to) delineation of system and subsystem boundaries, definition of performance testing requirements, definition of handover requirements and procedures, definition of commissioning related operational procedures.
- Working with the site fabrication team(s), verify that relevant systems and equipment have achieved Mechanical Completion and are ready for pre-commissioning / commissioning activities to begin.
- Identification of gaps and / or potential deficiencies in Contractor’s mechanical HUC execution and development of rectification contingency plans as required
- Review of mechanical equipment HUC procedures.
- Definition and management of interface requirements to other Company functional groups in regards to performance of mechanical equipment HUC scope.
- Business travel may be required as requested by the project to locations outside Vietnam;
- All other duties as may be reasonably requested by immediate supervisor.
***Qualifications & Work Experience Requirements:
- Extensive working experience in Offshore Oil & Gas Field Developments inclusive of the above described work activities
- Extensive experience (10 years minimum) working in offshore oil and gas project execution environments including Contractor engineering offices, fabrication yards, and offshore hook up / commissioning / start up and operational support.
- Minimum Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. .
- Detailed multidisciplinary knowledge of offshore facilities design, fabrication, installation and commissioning;
- Have an in-depth understanding of oil and gas facility equipment operational requirements
- Fluent in English (written, spoken)
- Ability to utilize Word / Excel / Powerpoint effectively
- Ability to obtain a TBOSIET certificate for offshore work
