Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer – Chemical Processes, acts as a process owner for chemical processes (i.e. Acid Stripping, Etching, FIC, etc). He or She must be able to conduct process development trials to identify suitable chemical agents and improve existing chemical process or procedures to provide optimum processing methods in-house. Additional responsibilities include to prepare, maintain and improve documentations like procedures, shop work instructions, inspection documents etc.

  • Leading manufacturing process development, qualification, maintenance and improvement for all chemical processes in Gas Turbine component Repair.
  • Conduct process Development Projects; identify suitable chemical agents and parameters for optimized process.
  • Lead and manage chemical equipment hardware change projects, support in house maintenance team & co-ordinate with external suppliers for implementation.
  • Act as an authorized person for chemical consumable quality checks.
  • Support Etching, Titration and Dilution processes.
  • Supporting and training chemical process operators with production, technical and EHS topics.
  • Assisting the quality department in developing and implementing quality specifications, material and process specifications, procedures, and manufacturing inspection methods.
  • Lead productivity projects in chemical processes to optimize existing or develop new procedures and manufacturing processes to improve processing cost, reduce through put times, and reduce industrial waste.
  • Assisting EHS team with all matters of personal, chemical/material and process safety requirements for the relevant processes. Raise EHS concerns and act as a leader, leading by example for operators and the team members.
  • Taking an active role in ensuring manufacturability, quality inspection feasibility and reproducibility of all chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Supporting component engineering in implementation of relevant processes on components.
  • Assist with maintenance planning, specify maintenance tasks, troubleshooting hardware’s and implementing improvements.
  • Non Conformance Report (NCR) processing according GE Power requirements and coordinating with global teams for implementing dispositions and improving.
  • Conducting all business activities according to GE’s integrity and Spirit & Letter.
  • Reporting to the supervisor regularly and specifically in case of exceptional or EHS incidents.

Job requirement

  • Bachelor or Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Materials Science, Chemical or Metallurgy Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in setting up or maintaining chemical processing equipment’s, executing new process developments and improving chemical base industrial processes.
  • Good knowledge in chemical theory and hardware’s.
  • Experience with acid stripping processes.
  • Experience with salt bath and HF cleaning processes.
  • Spoken and Written English language advanced.
  • Understanding of technical drawings, P&ID and industrial specifications.
